Copyright contact

Send copyright concerns to Watchible’s general copyright contact, admin@watchible.app, with the relevant work and content details.

A formal notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act is directed to the service provider’s designated agent. Agent designations can be checked in the U.S. Copyright Office directory. The information below describes the requirements of 17 U.S.C. § 512.

Information for a copyright notice

A written notice under section 512(c)(3) must substantially include:

  1. A physical or electronic signature from the copyright owner or someone authorized to act for the owner of the allegedly infringed exclusive right.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work. For multiple works at one online site, a representative list may be used.
  3. Identification of the allegedly infringing material and enough information to locate it on Watchible, such as a link and the relevant account, title, or post details.
  4. Contact information sufficient to reach you, including an address, telephone number, and email address if available.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement that the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act for the owner of the allegedly infringed exclusive right.

Consider whether the use is authorized by a license or by law, including fair use, before making a claim. A screenshot can help explain a report but may not be enough to locate the material.

Disputing a copyright removal

If your material was removed or disabled because of a copyright claim and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, a written counter-notification under section 512(g)(3) must substantially include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the removed or disabled material and where it appeared before removal.
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the removal or disabling resulted from a mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address, and telephone number.
  5. Your consent to the jurisdiction of the U.S. Federal District Court for the district containing your address, or, if you are outside the United States, any district where the service provider may be found.
  6. A statement that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original notice or that person’s agent.

Sharing and next steps

We may share a copyright notice and relevant contact information with the person whose material is affected. The statutory counter-notice process includes sending a copy of the counter-notice, including its identifying information, to the original claimant.

Under the section 512(g) process, material is restored between 10 and 14 business days after receipt of a qualifying counter-notice unless the designated agent first receives notice that the claimant filed an action seeking a court order against the disputed activity. This describes the statutory process, not a guaranteed response time for every report. Content may also remain restricted for a separate violation of our Community Guidelines.

Knowingly making a material misrepresentation in a notice or counter-notice may result in liability under section 512(f). Watchible may terminate accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.

For a non-copyright concern, use the in-app report controls or our contact page.
